Project Yoga Richmond (PYR)
We experienced PYR's Saturday Salutations outdoor, pay-what-you-can yoga class for the first time in the Summer of 2016. On the upper deck at the Viriginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA), we were connected to a wonderful community with the mission to make yoga accessible and affordable to all individuals of all abilities across the greater Richmond area. Since then, we have partnered to help promote their events and spread awareness.
"From the very start, Project Yoga Richmond has been a community movement. We began in 2010 through a Facebook post that inspired the Richmond community to come together to share the benefits of yoga by making the practice accessible and affordable to all. Since then, our organization has flourished as a tribute to the support of the Richmond community. Over the last year, Project Yoga Richmond has experienced tremendous growth. As we reflect on how and why our organization continues to flourish, we are reminded of the ways this is a tribute to the Richmond community. Since working with The Richmond Experience, more and more community members have been practicing with Project Yoga Richmond for the very first time. By posting about our events and classes, The Richmond Experience has raised awareness about Project Yoga Richmond, helping us fulfill our mission of increasing access to yoga. This has been essential to our organizations growth, as every time someone unrolls the mat with us, we are able to unroll the mat for someone else. Project Yoga Richmond loves working with The RVAX as they unite and highlight all that our vibrant community has to offer and we notice the ways their work makes an impact on our community and organization every single day." - Holly Zajur, Ambassador Project Yoga Richmond
Keep Virginia Cozy
We really aligned with their mission of ridding the Commonwealth of litter. They focus on Virginia waterways, park systems and within residential communities. We help to promote their volunteer clean-ups around the city and spread awareness about the group.
