Here's the latest
Root Stock Provisions quietly opened on East Main Street late last month and their general store vibe is giving us all the feels! Root Stock Provisions offers breakfast, lunch, and desserts as well as Dinner on the Run – a carryout option offering seasonal, prepared meals to-go. You know we’ll be checking this out ASAP! Want to know more? The owners are opening another spot next door, Oak & Apple. They are also the folks behind Postbellum in The Fan and Station 2 Downtown. A few more deets here from BizSense!
Veil Brewing is heading South of the James to open a second location featuring a small-batch brewery and tasting room! Richmond Times Dispatch reports their new location, which is not yet in development, will feature *GASP* green space! While we do love their Scott’s Addition location for its proximity to other breweries, you can literally fry an egg on their asphalt parking lot patio in the middle of Richmond’s hot Summers. We’ll be patiently waiting for this new location to open.
Oregon Hill gained a new neighborhood joint serving Philly cheesesteaks, grilled paninis, pastas, build-your-own pizzas, and house made potato chips. If you live basically anywhere between Oregon Hill and The Fan you’re in luck because Peddler on Pine Street will deliver to you. We see a few cheat meals in your future… I mean seriously, they have a chicken parm sandwich! Can you say #hangovercure!? Maybe take the stairs for the rest of the week.
A new kind of shopping popup in Carytown allows multiple small businesses to sell and connect with customers all in a shared space. Aptly named, The Carytown Collective, you could see different vendors selling within three months’ time. The concept seems fun and similar to the monthly market popups we’ve been seeing all around RVA! Currently in the space: Basket & Bike, Elements of Carytown, Twig, Urban Interiors, and Handmade by Marty. Have you stopped by The Carytown Collective? What did you think?
Brace yourselves, people of Scott’s Addition STELLA’S GROCERY IS OPENING THIS THURSDAY! We repeat: this Thursday the highly-anticipated Stella’s Grocery Scott's Addition located inside the HandCraft building will officially open! If you haven’t visited their first location on Lafayette Street, you can expect this upscale market to serve tons of Greek specialties made fresh and packaged to-go as well as a variety of other types of foods including salads, pastas, hummus, dips, pastries, and more. Rumor has it the SA location will also have a rotisserie chicken station plus you’ll be able to stock up on beer, wine, and necessities like eggs, bread, and olives. (Okay, maybe olives aren’t a necessity but you get what we’re saying.) You can continue reading more here from Richmond Mag.
Come check out River City Roll with us on Thursday night! If you haven't already signed up here, make sure to do it soon! We have 11 spots left as we were able to increase the number of attendees from 35 to 45! Don't miss the chance to see what all the hype is about before everyone else!
