I scream, you scream, we all scream for, Spring? Okay, so we know that's not how it goes but SRSLY! What is up with this weather!?! We are in total boycott mode over here so instead we are channeling warm weather vibes with this announcement: The Neighborhood Scoop, a stationary ice cream truck serving hard and soft ice cream posted on the corner of 26th Street and Nine Mile Road in Church Hill, opened for the season last Friday!! We love the story of how owners Alfonso & Lawson came about creating The Neighborhood Scoop and you can read about that here. So, who cares if it's 45 degrees? It's mid-April and it's SPRING so go get yourself some ice cream!
Stop what you're doing and pull out your calendar because next week is Richmond Restaurant Week! This week long event benefits FeedMore and has raised over $590,000 to date! Local chefs flex their creativity by creating a special 3-course meal for the set price of $27.91. This is a really great opportunity to try that one restaurant you've always heard about but have never been to or to try something you normally wouldn't. You can find a full list of participating restaurants on their RRW website. Reservations are strongly recommended! See you out there!! #rrweekspring2018
It's 4/20 on Friday and Cobra Burger is conveniently returning for their first pop-up of the season at The Veil Brewing! Our friends over at Let's Share a Dish answer the question: What the #@&! is a Cobra Burger!? We haven't tried them yet but apparently they have created a cult-like following and always end up selling out. If you can't make it this Friday, don't fret too much. They usually pop-up every other week once the weather is nice.
Is SXSW coming to Richmond? The answer is no but Marcus Schmidt of Richmond Times Dispatch claims the "Richmond International Film Festival re-branding to be the next SXSW." That's pretty awesome and definitely something we can get behind! For those who are not familiar, RIFF is one of the largest international competitive film festivals in the Mid-Atlantic. The spirit of Hollywood descends upon Richmond for a full week of film screening, live music performances, industry panels, Q&As, and mixers. Make sure you get out there and experience all that the Richmond International Film Festival has to offer! Happening April 23-29.
