The Insider - Volume 1

Pizza for days, yoga in the park, Flying Squirrels!

Here's the latest

There can never be too much pizza & beer which is why we are excited for not one, not two, not three, but FOUR 'za joints opening in RVA! And the first one (brought to you by a VCU grad) is opening this Friday with draft beer specials all day! While you patiently wait, you can read a Richmond Times Dispatch article on this spot down the street coming from EAT Restaurant Partnersanother on Broad St, and this beloved Richmond gem opening a second location in Church Hill. YUM!

If you didn't unroll your mat at the first KOP Yoga yesterday, don't sweat it!  One Drop Yoga and King of Pops are back at the Carillon each and every Tuesday now throughOctober 8 for free yoga starting at 6:30pm! And while the pops will not be free this year, they are only $3 and 25% of the proceeds will be donated to a different local non-profit each week. We can't decide if we're more excited about weather-appropriate outdoor yoga or the prospect of snagging our first pop of the season!

There's a new kid on the block in what is becoming a restaurant row according tothis BizSense article. Salt & Forge offers elevated breakfast and lunch options and promises to get all their orders out in 15 minutes! Why we love it? David Hahn, owner, gets Richmond and partnered with local businesses like Idle Hands Bread Company and Four Forks RVA and offers delivery through Quickness RVA #supportinglocal! If you missed our sneak peek on Insta story last week just know the coriander slaw is a must-order! They opened yesterday so swing by and check it out. We already can't wait to go back.

Food Network made a list of the best doughnut in every state and the strawberry-glazed doughnut from Sugar Shack came out on top for Virginia! WANT! We seriously love when Richmond lands in national publications and this is a particularly exciting one because #donuts. Did ya'll know they are made with fresh strawberries?  How does one acquire such a job? BRB...

Did you know there are secret kitchens around Richmond? We are VERY curious after reading RVA Mag's, "Secret Kitchen: A slice of Richmond's Underground Food Scene" which you'll find here. I know we've already talked about pizza but c'mon, aren't you even just a little curious? The article also talks about soup and cookies, both of which sound incredibly well done, so this is a must read. Do you know something? Drop us a tip

Another early access event is in the works and we need to know: would you prefer a weekday morning or Saturday morning to experience a new spot in Richmond? Hint: you can pop in and out quickly or sit leisurely. Let us know here. We'll share more details soon!
