LAUNCH PARTY, MEAL DELIVERY, FOOD NEWS
First things first:
*LAUNCH PARTY UPDATE*
Are you ready to meet other members and celebrate all things Richmond!? We are busy planning our launch party and can't wait to show you some love for joining this awesome community! Take this poll to let us know which dates work best for you, we don't want you to miss it!
Here's the latest
Next week is a big one for food news in Richmond with Nate's Bagelsextending their hours to 7 days per week (I know I'm not the only one crying tears of joys over this. Does this mean shorter lines? Probably not, but always worth the wait IMO) AND... wait for it.... the highly anticipated Scoop ice cream shop (coming to you from Megan Botwinick, owner of Whisk) is finally opening in the Fan specializing in small-batch ice cream, customizable ice cream sandwiches and other sweet treats! Everything is made in-house and get this: they have a Pint club. Yeah, you read that right. You can be in an ice cream clubwhere members get dibs on the sweetest flavors by the pint, delivered monthly, including three different flavors (a signature, seasonal, and exclusive batch for members only). Richmond, we love you.
Just opened this week is Temple, a Loation restaurant, brought to you by the owners of Sabai and located just next door, and Swan Dive, in the old Betty on Davis spot, brought to you by Kevin Roberts, formerly of The Black Sheep. Can I seriously use any more commas in that last sentence? Phew!
Who has time for meal prep when we have so much to experience? If you're feeling like you're always on the go and having a hard time making home cooked meals, we have a solution for you: meal delivery service. And no, we're not talking about a box that's shipped from God knows where that only contains the ingredients and then you still have to chop, chop, chop, mix, season, top, bake, cook, etc. etc. etc. We're talking about local Richmond chefs, often using locally-sourced food to create delicious meals delivered directly to your door. Here's our top list: Truly Scrumptious, The Green Kitchen, Daily Jars, Support Suppers (gift a meal), Chef Maura Cooks, Eat Smart, Supper Made Simple, and Everyday Gourmet. We recently discovered and met the husband and wife duo behind Truly Scrumptious at the St Stephen's Farmers' Market and can't recommend it enough! They locally-source nearly all of their food from farmers in our region and you can pick and choose what you want each week. Win-win!
