Think of this series like a Richmond-y LIKEtoKNOW.it kinda thing — but ~this is NOT an ad~.

Color walks around town
I recently saw a Reel about going on a color walk and decided to try it out — and I’m so glad I did. Holly and I wandered through Scott’s Addition and The Fan looking for the color yellow. I turned the experience into a Reel myself (linked below!), and since then, so many people have come up to me in real life to say what a great idea it was. Now, I definitely didn’t invent the concept, but sometimes we all need a reminder to slow down and look around.
When you intentionally look for a specific color, you start to see it everywhere. It’s such a simple yet powerful way to feel grounded and present in the moment. I did another walk recently focusing on the color blue — turns out, The Fan is full of blue houses! Consider this your gentle nudge to get outside, breathe, and take a moment to be mindful.
Pinky’s
It had been a minute since I last went to Pinky’s, but wow — it did not disappoint. We went with some friends and grabbed seats at the bar, and everything from the food to the vibes was on point.
We shared the Giardino Board — a stunning spread of fresh seasonal fruits, manchego, honey peppercorn ricotta, herbed goat cheese, seasonal jam, grilled crostini, toasted pistachios, and brie, all served charcuterie-style. Truly one of the best cheese boards in the city.
We also ordered these other tasty bites:
Atlantic Crab & Sherry Risotto with pickled Fresno chile, sherry cipollini onion, toasted pistachios, and crispy serrano ham
Zucchini Fritti with Calabrian chile, pepperoncini, lemon-dill aioli, Aleppo pepper, and chives
Crispy Artichoke Hearts with Parmigiano-Reggiano, shaved cured egg yolk, roasted garlic aioli, mint, citrus, and Aleppo pepper
Everything was phenomenal. Our bartender was super friendly, kept the drinks flowing, and made the experience even better. If you haven’t been to Pinky’s lately, let this be your sign.

Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken
While talking to some friends about my latest visit to Lee’s, a couple of them mentioned they’d actually never been to the fried chicken paradise. In case you’re afflicted by that same problem, allow me to encourage you to fix that situation immediately.
My obsession began when I worked next door at the DMV, but it’s carried on for years, and I’m truly stunned folks seemed to be fixated on another big-name chain, when Lee’s is the clear answer to any cravings for deliciousness. I usually go with some strips; two or three usually do the trick, but if you’ve got room to spare, definitely don’t sleep on the sides and biscuits. Their mashed potatoes, mac ‘n cheese, and fries are particularly great, but you can pretty much order anything here and already find yourself excited for your next visit. No matter what you end up with, make sure to ask for a couple sides of honey mustard, too.
Intermission Beer Co.
As you may or may not know, I’m a few months pregnant, so while I haven’t been partaking in the season’s typical-for-me pairings (say, an Atomic Blonde Ale from Main Line Brewery), I have been unexpectedly enjoying taste-testing NA brewskis here and there.Intermission Brewing Company, especially, has some great selects.
The spot’s barcade location on Lakeridge Pkwy has quite a few options, and I recently enjoyed sipping on the Industrial Safety Glasses Pils. If you’re looking for less beer-y choices, though, they’ve got that, too. The Urban Artifact Seedless Strawberry is highly recommended, and they’ve got a round-up of Ninja Kombucha sips (but of course) to try, too.
