Ed 309: Dock Street Park, Parisian Wine & Tea Café, Sharp's Island Cabin
Hello there!
Look, I’m not gonna lie to you: The holiday weekend has me all kinds of messed up about time right now, so we’re making this fast and loose up top here before we get into the REAL hot goss about town. SO:
Don’t forget to snag your FREE ticket here to the Squirrels game this Thursday. The team has been doing their baseball thing elsewhere recently, so these next few nights of peanuts, crackerjack, and all that good stuff is about to be lit af — AND In-Your-Face Fireworks follow the last inning. So, like, literally, it’s going to be lit af. Come on; meet us there! Have a drink! Tell me which sweatshirt to buy at the team store after *I’ve* had a drink!
Anyway. That other hot goss I mentioned 👇
Keep scrolling for RVA’s latest social news, including where to (now) get ice cream on Tuesdays, how to get free tacos for a year, what Anderson .Paak ate in Richmond recently, and more.

THE LATEST:
SOCIAL NEWS
The tea is piping hot: T•Caf Salon de Thé announced its impending resurgence. The Parisian wine and tea cafe with a cult following is teaming up with Nancy C Kingcaid to reintroduce itself. Keep your eyes on Insta for updates “coming soon,” and if you need to get your tea fix in the meantime, we’ve got a City Guide for that: 5 PLACES TO GO FOR TEA IN RICHMOND. (Instagram)
A space for creativity and connection: The brains behind the Vana Chupp Studio and Theodora Miller brands have teamed up to introduce STUΔIO, a space for creativity and connection. Says the artists’ site, “Beyond creating and working in this light-filled space in the heart of the historic Fan District, they share their talents with others through client consultations, appointments, studio visits, workshops, pop-ups, and special events. (STUΔIO)
Spring (and summer) just got that much sweeter: There’s a new park in the works. The city has collaborated with the James River Association, James River Park System, Capital Region Land Conservancy, and The Conservation Fund to bring the project to life, and Dock Street Park will open to the public starting on Saturday, June 15. Look forward to multi-purpose trails, picnic areas, native plants, and increased river access. (Instagram)
On island time: If you’re looking for staycation inspo this summer, consider heading to Sharp’s Island. One of the spot’s owners is in the middle of constructing an artsy cabin of sorts, which complements its adjacent tiki bar overlooking the James River. (Instagram)
Important Taco Tuesday happenings: Taco Bamba opens its Richmond location next Tuesday (but ofc), and the first 100 people in line get free tacos for a year! FYI, the spot is setting up shop in Willow Lawn and has an expansive menu, including bowls, quesadillas, tacos, and Not Tacos. We’ve got our eyes set on the Scott’s Addiction to start — local beer braised brisket, sweet potato fries, caramelized onion, Richmond white BBQ, pickled onion, chilis, cheese, and cilantro. (Taco Bamba)
ICYMI: Trouvaille opened its doors in the Fan in recent weeks and fancies itself a “casual eatery where comfort meets culinary creativity.” The restaurant’s simple menu features intentional dishes focused on sourcing high-quality ingredients. Try the spot’s Seafood Pasta dish featuring lump crab, shrimp, salmon, asparagus, and ramp cream sauce, and pair that with one (or more) of the spot’s many delish signature cocktails. (Trouvaille)
