43rd Street Studios is deeply honored to announce a special celebration:
"40 Years at 43rd Street: Robin Cage. Works in Clay.”
This spring marks four decades since Robin Cage transformed 1410 W. 43rd Street into a ceramic studio and artisan gallery, a space that has come to define her lifelong devotion to ceramics. To mark this milestone, Robin is unveiling a new collection of her work, created this year and focusing on pots made in Porcelain clay. She has been able to experiment with new forms and glazing since passing the torch to Joanna Gragnani, the current owner of 43rd Street Studios, where a vibrant community of ceramic artists now gathers to teach, create, and connect.
For more than forty years, Robin Cage has poured her heart into crafting timeless stoneware pottery. Her work celebrates the beauty in the everyday. Subtle glazes and thoughtful designs make her work far more than functional—it becomes a quiet companion to the daily rituals of life by elevating something as simple as a morning cup of coffee or a shared meal. Her pieces can be found at a local restaurant, Sen Organic Small Plate, where they continue to touch lives of the patrons who share a meal together. She is also represented locally at Shockoe Bottom Clay.
Looking back on this remarkable journey, it’s clear that Robin's work has always been about more than clay and glaze—it’s about connection. It’s about honoring the quiet beauty that surrounds us and the way craft can transform even the simplest moments into something extraordinary.
Robin’s mastery in high-fired, reduction pottery and her unwavering work ethic have earned her a place among the region’s most respected and passionate artisans. At 43rd Street Studios, we are proud to celebrate her legacy with this exhibition—a chance to experience her latest works, which reflect both her rich history and her ongoing evolution as an artist.
The exhibition Opening will be on April 18, from 6-8 PM, with a full day of viewing and purchasing on April 19, from 10 AM to 4 PM.
We invite the community to join us in honoring Robin's legacy—her artistry, her dedication, and the countless moments that have been touched by her hands.
