Science After Dark: Everything is Awesome

  • Science Museum of Virginia 2500 West Broad Street Richmond, VA, 23220 United States (map)

Get off your double-decker couch and join us for a LEGO brick-themed Science After Dark! You don’t have to be The Special to enjoy hands-on STEM activities that involve architecture, minifigures, racing and more. Whether you’re a Master Builder or need an instruction guide to get started, we’ll have a variety of family friendly programming all night long.

Why are we doubling down on the building block theme? Because we have Towers of Tomorrow with LEGO® Bricks on display, of course! Featuring 20 iconic skyscrapers from across the globe, this touring exhibition will have you marveling at the half a million LEGO bricks used to create massive replicas. Plus, you can show off your skills in the interactive construction areas stocked with 200,000 loose LEGO bricks.

The LEGO Movie:
We’re showing the feature film on the big screen to close out the night! The LEGO Movie starts at 8 p.m. The movie requires a $5 add-on ticket for all guests regardless of membership status. Members may not use Dome passes for the movie. Tickets for the movie may only be purchased on-site the night of the event.

Admission:
Science After Dark admission is $17.50 for adults; $14.50 for youth (ages 6–12) and seniors (ages 60 and older) and $10 for preschool-aged children (ages 3–5). Science After Dark admission is free for Science Museum members, children under 2, college students, active duty military and veterans with a valid ID.
Live astronomy shows in The Dome are free with admission. Seating is first come, first served.
