About the Author:
Alicia Valenski is an American travel writer and editor living in the Netherlands. With a journalism degree from Penn State, she cut her teeth as a writer and editor at the Charlotte Observer before moving to Richmond, VA herself to serve as the Managing Editor and Media Director at The Richmond Experience for several years. After bringing on Paige and Kelsey full-time at RVAx to make sure it would be in excellent hands, Alicia moved on to accept a role as a senior editor at national digital media company theSkimm. Now, she’s a travel author for Lonely Planet navigating life in Amsterdam with her partner, their dog, and a GPS that’s forever confused by the city's endless bike paths.


Alicia writes about the ups, downs, and sideways adventures of being a queer, neurodivergent American living abroad, all with a generous dose of honesty, humor, and heart. When she’s not exploring new places or sharing her stories, she’s probably lost in a good book, perfecting her napping skills, or rewatching one of her favorite TV shows for the umpteenth time. Paige Poprocky is the co-owner and Chief Marketing Officer behind The Richmond Experience—a hyper-local lifestyle media outlet dedicated to showcasing everything there is to eat, drink, see, and do in Richmond, Virginia.



Originally from Pennsylvania, Paige moved to Richmond over a decade ago to pursue a career in teaching. After years of educating in Louisa County, she followed her passions for wine, content creation, and storytelling, creating Sips & Trips with Paige, where she covers her wine recs, travel escapades, and date-night experiences throughout Virginia.
