Ceremony & Point 5
What it is: TWO new dry bottle shops to hit Richmond recently — Ceremony is in the Fan, and Point 5 is in Carytown.
Why we love it: Sometimes, you want a delish drink without the risk of a hangover. Ceremony and Point 5 each offer a lot of alternative options to alcohol — from non-alcoholic spirits to nonalcoholic wine and beer. Ceremony also curates a playlist for whatever party you’re having while you enjoy your beverage(s).
Where to find it: 1 N Lombardy St (The Fan) and 3435 W Cary St (Carytown)
Biscuits & Gravy
What it is: A new brunch spot by the owners of Tang & Biscuit.
Why we love it: While we were sad to see the Dairy Bar close up shop after 76 years as a Richmond staple, we’re delighted that Tang & Biscuit’s owners are bringing something equally delicious to the icon’s former digs. Biscuits & Gravy serves up everything from a classic plate of two eggs to a stacked breakfast lasagna to old favorites “with a more modern, 'funky' spin.”
Where to find it: 1600 Roseneath Rd (Scott’s Addition)
The Boulevard Inn
What it is: A newly renovated, swoon-worthy B&B in the Fan.
Why we love it: The Boulevard Inn, built in 1914, blends historical charm with modern design, offering you the best of Richmond architecture, whether you’re looking for a spot to host out-of-towners or planning a staycation yourself. The spot also boasts luxurious amenities, including a daily gourmet, European-inspired breakfast, and wine-and-cheese happy hours. Our social media manager, Paige, just spent the night at the inn, and we were all VERY jealous as we watched for her updates on Insta.
Where to find it: 1 N Arthur Ashe Blvd (The Fan)
Buttermilk + Honey (on Grace)
What it is: One of many amazing concepts created by husband-wife duo Chef Mike Lindsey and Kimberley Love-Lindsey.
Why we love it: If you’ve seen this pic floating around Instagram recently, we don’t have to explain much else. Buttermilk + Honey was already a Richmond favorite, serving drool-worthy fried chicken menu items (including gluten free and vegan options), but now with a new spot in the former home to Pop’s Market on Grace, we can get our fix downtown, too.
Where to find it: 415 E Grace St (City Center)
Fat Rabbit
What it is: A new bakery storefront to hit Union Hill with a soft opening on July 13.
Why we love it: We’ve been way excited for Fat Rabbit to open its doors since the spot announced its new brick-and-mortar set-up in January. The bakery will feature its mouth-watering cakes along with other desserts (like these homemade Pop-Tarts) and coffee, and we have big plans to get our sugar fix there often come mid-July.
Where to find it: 2025 Venable St (Union Hill)
