Hi there!

I can’t pretend, folks: Between my WinterFest visit on Sunday, my first round of puppy chow for the season on Monday, and the crick in my neck plus the seven hours and thirty-two minutes I had left in this month’s book club pick on Tuesday, I’m already beat this week. I can’t be jibber-jabbering up here all the livelong day!

I’m making this short and sweet up top and getting you the Richmond must-know facts immediately, because I have to crank up the heating pad and the 2x-speed so I’m in fighting shape when I meet you at Santa’s Cocktail Shop later.

You… ARE going to be there, right? Have I made it awkward?

Keep scrolling for RVA’s latest social news, including a Legend Brewing Company update, an FYI for Richmond singles, another LEGO to-do, and more.

RICHMONDER TO KNOW

Last Leg Vintage: If it’s gorg second-hand goods you’ve got on your wishlist this year, think of Last Leg Vintage. The spot just dropped its debut collection at Maven Theory earlier this fall (and is in the biz of curating pieces for local shops!). Personally, we’ve got a thing for the ever-changing glassware, in partic. Consider mixing in some sustainable shopping while you’re out and about this month.

SOCIAL NEWS

Legend Brewing Company *now* plans to stay open for the foreseeable future. And TG for that! Earlier this year, it sounded like the fan-favorite watering hole (with its amazing view to boot) was in talks to sell its space, given the rising price of real estate. But lucky for us, it seems like those plans are no longer. And hopefully, as Legend vice president Dave Gott put it, even if there’s an offer made, Legend can continue operating, biz per usual. (Style Weekly)

Good news for Richmond singles: WalletHub ranked the River City as one of the top spots for singles. The company, which seeks to help folks lead financially healthy lives, put RVA at spot 59, and overall, accounted for each city’s economics, fun and recreation, and dating opps. FWIW, Richmond ranked 113, 34, and 92, for all those aspects, respectively. (WalletHub)

Alert Sean Evans! We think there’s a new Hot Ones contender on the market, and it’s made in Richmond, Virginia. GhostWolf Pepper Co. reached out to tell us about their hot-sauce situation and had our mouths watering, so we figured we should pass the info along to burn a hole in your wallet, too. The company’s debut hot sauce, Elder’s Revenge, lays on the spice with its 7 Pot Primo, Moruga Scorpion, and Bhut Jolokia peppers, complemented by its flavors of elderberry, aromatic sage, ginger, garlic, lime, and sea salt. Frankly, we’ll put THAT s*** on everything. (GhostWolfPepper Co.)

Grow your heart three+ sizes this holiday season. With Roze Worrell’s Hearts: Finding Unexpected Signs of Hope, Comfort, and Joy, that is. The Norfolk author recently worked with Richmond-based Little Star Communications to publish her book, and when we heard the synopsis, we thought it might be a good fit for your holiday shopping list(s). The piece ties together various times Roze happened upon a heart-shaped something in her day-to-day life and how she interpreted each sighting. FYI, she’s doing author talks at Click and LovEvolve in the coming days, too, in case you want to learn more *and* snag a signed copy. (Roze Worrell)

Speaking of hearts, The LEGO Group has some ~love~ly plans happening in Richmond this weekend, too. Along with the Manchester Family YMCA, LEGO is hosting its Build to Give event, during which attendees can visit the YMCA location between 10 am and 2 pm on Saturday, December 14, and create different heart designs to decorate holiday trees, which will then be donated to the YMCA. When you share your heartfelt creation with #BuildToGive, LEGO will also donate to a child in need. (LEGO)
