Hey there!
It’s Wednesday and we’re back to a normal day after the seemingly never-ending shopping/giving/spending frenzy that was the last few days! We have some good news, all you need to do here today is sit back, relax, and catch up on the happenings around town. But if you’re like us and you still have some shopping to do, plan to attend one of these local markets. It’s an easy way to shop multiple local vendors at once and find unique items.

The Pink Flamingo is officially open Downtown! Inside the former Pasture, The Pink Flamingo was originally slated to be named Cabo but after causing some confusion with the popular Cabo Fish Taco in Blacksburg, the name was changed. This new spot comes from the folks behind Maya and serves ceviche, nachos, tequila, and more. Are you headed to a show downtown soon (like these or these)? Make plans to check it out!
Stella’s Restaurant is now selling clothes and accessories, sort of! Earlier this year they launched a small popup shop inside a tiny house that sat across from the restaurant called Our Life by Stella’s. The concept features Greek designers including clothing, jewelry, and home decor. Moving into the former House of Bedding and Futons space, next door to the restaurant, Our Life has now become a brick and mortar that also includes a coffee bar. It’s the second clothing shop in the area to include a coffee bar along with the retail experience (see Brick and Mortar, the store). Our Lift by Stella’s opens today at noon!
Michelle Obama is headed to Richmond to participate in The Richmond Forum but tickets have already sold out! Are you one of the lucky ones that grabbed a ticket!? (NBC 12)

PSA: Consider heading to the DMV for a Real ID versus renewing online if your driver’s license is expiring in the next several months. You must go into the DMV in order to get a Real ID which you’ll need in order to fly starting October 1, 2020. You can renew online but then you won’t get the Real ID.
