In case you missed our announcement on Instagram last week, I have some bittersweet news: I’ve accepted a senior editor role at theSkimm, and this is my last week here at The Richmond Experience.

It has been such a pleasure to meet you in your inboxes (and on your social media feeds) with the best of what Richmond has to offer since I started as Managing Editor in 2020—and I am so grateful to each and every one of you for being here for the ride. I look forward to joining you in following along with the RVAx team as the company and community continue to grow.

Keira D'Amato: The Midlothian mother made a big case over the weekend for chasing your dreams. Setting a new American marathon record at the Chevron Houston Marathon on Sunday, she finished with a time of two hours, 19 minutes, and 12 seconds!

“[…S]omehow I just believed that[...]age is just a number, and it just doesn't even matter how old you are. You can chase your dreams," said the 37-year-old runner, as she celebrated her personal win.

Fit for Scott’s Addition(ish): Happy Body Space, a new coworking space for massage therapists, personal trainers, and fitness professionals of the like, just opened right outside the ever-growing neighborhood. (Richmond BizSense)

V ready for V72 x 2: Hardywood, Tarrant’s West, and Soul N’ Vinegar are just a few of the 30 hot spots participating in this year’s Vegan Action Vegan Food Week, which kicks off Tuesday, January 25. (Instagram)

A safe space for marginalized communities: Two local businesses are creating a space on a nearby tea farm where Black, Indigenous, LGBT and neurodivergent creators “can feel safe and take their time and not have to worry about fitting in.” (VPM)
