Hi, folks!

Maybe you’ve come to know (and love? 😇) my affinity for Taylor Swift culture, and considering that it’s album-drop week for TS11, bear with me — I have to bring the woman up again. Can you *believe* how seamlessly she threads through some of the best bars in the city?!

I’m not gonna lie: When I pitched the idea for that City Guide, I don’t know if everybody was on board. Sam and Paige were completely supportive, don’t get me wrong; it’s just hard, sometimes, to tell if I’m giving off “passionate” or “drunk at the afternoon team meeting.”

Either way, I think we landed the dismount. I mean, Taylor Swift shows up everywhere! The Rhinestone Cowgirl cocktail? The red-af vinyl listening room? The cobra head at the bar? Stunning!

I guess what I’m *really* trying to say is: I know I all but lost my credit card privileges when I bought tickets to The Eras Tour last summer, but, like, I have to go again if she adds more tour dates, right? Right. I’ll talk to my bank.

Keep scrolling for RVA’s latest social news, including frozen pink cosmos, a spot for a nice dinner, haircuts for kids, and more.

RICHMONDER(S) TO KNOW

Storm and Othello: They’re the chocolate-y brown, fluffy alpacas who moved into Maymont a few months ago. The two male mammals have been settling into their new digs since November, and we’ve gotten a glimpse or two when we’ve stopped by recently. Since Historic Garden Week starts this Saturday, we thought it was the perfect time to remind you to visit the beautiful 100 acres Maymont has to offer — alpacas included!

SOCIAL NEWS

Facets and florals: Sun & Selene and Richmond Flower Truck are teaming up this Saturday, April 20, to host a spring-y event. Pop by the Scott’s Addition jeweler this weekend to build a fresh floral arrangement and sip some bubbles while you shop new gems for your spring wardrobe. The shindig runs from 12 to 4 pm, and the weather’s supposed to be nice — maybe bring your 10k running buddies and keep the Richmond party going that afternoon? (Sun & Selene)

Head to the Hill: Mark your calendar for more springtime fun on Saturday, May 11. From noon to 4 pm, the Church Hill Association is hosting its second annual Church Hill Spring Fest & Market. The event is free to attend and family-friendly, featuring local vendors, nonprofit orgs, food, drinks, and music. Work this into your Mother’s Day Weekend plans and mingle with other Richmonders while you peruse some goods that make our city so great. (Church Hill Association)

On a high note: Friday Cheers is (ofc) one of our favorite things about the beginning of warm-weather season, and we’ll take all the outdoor-live-music opps we can get. So, catch us moving and grooving at *another* set of jam seshes earlier in the week this spring. The Richmond Department of Public Works and Main Street Station are at it again with their concert series. Every Thursday next month, music lovers can catch a *free* show on the back patio of Main Street Station from 5:45 to 8 pm. The participating artists each have ties to RVA and offer a variety of genres, from jazz to rock. (Instagram)

We like all the colors, but pink just looks so good on us: The group chat is buzzin’ this week, because more deets just dropped about chef Brittanny Anderson’s next food-and-drink concept. Pink Room is set to open in Union Hill in the coming weeks and offer locals another great spot for delish cocktails and more. Brittanny — who owns Metzger Bar & Butchery, Brenner Pass, and Black Lodge, BTW — was inspired by ‘80s/Venice/Paris Hilton vibes and plans to offer small plates along with select specialty bevs, including frozen pink cosmos. (Richmond magazine)

Lunch plans this week: Southbound now offers lunch service. Every Tuesday through Friday, from 11:30 am to 2 pm, the Bon Air staple will be there for your midday pick-me-up. Its menu features a wedge salad for starters, a crab cake sandwich for the main meal, and banana pudding for dessert — plus lots and lots more. (Instagram)

And where to go for a nice dinner: Stanley’s recently announced its new dinner series, Dinner at Nina’s. Every Monday, from 5 to 10 pm,  the Hoagie Emporium will offer a nice dinner, *other* than a delicious sammie. The menu includes things like grilled focaccia, leg of lamb, tiramisu, and craft cocktails.  (Instagram)
