Ed 84: You Cheers, We'll Give Back
Hey there!
We can’t wait to see you tonight at 6pm at Starr Hill Beer Hall and Rooftop! Your first beer is on the house and we’ll be donating $1 to Habitat for Humanity on behalf of every member who shows up! Kudzu Ramen will be serving up the goods. If you’ve procrastinated getting on the list, do it now (before 12pm noon). The Starr Hill team will be checking names at the door and handing out drink tickets. We like to think of this as a nice way to kick-off your holiday “vacation” because we all know not much work is getting done the rest of the year. Speaking of which, since next Wednesday is Christmas, we won’t be dropping into your inbox. We hope you made the nice list. See you soon.
Learn more here about Habitat for Humanity, our non-profit partner. You might be surprised to learn how they are helping to revitalize Richmond neighborhoods, or just how much work and training each new homeowner must do in order to qualify. We want everyone to be able to call Richmond home. Thanks to all of you and our local biz partners for helping us to support their mission.

Kirin is located in the former J-Kogi (the former former Boka Tako) across from Metro Bar and Grill. Pho Luca opened earlier this month according to Chop Suey Books, their neighbors. ICYMI, this new pho spot is in the former Hai Y’all (former former Best Friends Forever). Apparently the vegetarian bun is very good. With Winter officially here, you can count us in for some hot pho!
If you celebrate Christmas and you’re looking for a restaurant to do the cooking, or you don’t and you just want to get out of the house and go out to eat, Richmond Times-Dispatch rounded up the restaurants open on December 25. (Hint, make a reservation.) For those wanting to head out later in the evening for some libations, many bars will be open at night. Most spots will share their holiday hours on Instagram as the day approaches! (Richmond Times-Dispatch)
Two pet paradises are planned for the counties! Henrico and Chesterfield are both on the map for Pet Paradise, a boarding and pet daycare facility out of Florida. As you can imagine by the name, the amenities, activities, and lodging are over the top including misting stations, agility courses, a pool, raised beds, private rooms, and beyond. The first is not planned to open til 2021 so in the meantime check out longtime local spot, Holiday Barn Pet Resorts if you’re in the market. They offer a lot of the same amenities.
