Hey there!
First things first, we are so excited to bring back our Ultimate Restaurant Guide!! We heard your feedback, updated the list, and you can dive in here! This was our first guide on our original website and while our new site has many of these categories broken down into their own guides, we get that sometimes you just need an all-encompassing list so here it is. Beyond that, we’ve got sushi and taco news this week, Black History month is officially underway, and we’re giving away a pair of tickets to the River City Spirits Festival! Onward…

Keep your eye on our exclusive member ticket link to deals on shows at both VACU LIVE! and The National. Snag Lauren Alaina tickets for just $20, show plays this Thursday. You can get access to every concert in the 2020 concert season at Innsbrook AH with a season pass which includes admission to every show (minimum 22), early entrance to the venue, access to the season passholder lounge with private bar and restroom, and complementary venue parking. Olio is bowing out of The Fan and a student-friendly café is moving in. Sub-Conscious Café will take over the space on Cary St and plans to serve typical café fare primarily for those on the go and on a budget. Meanwhile, Olio’s Three Chopt location will continue to operate and offer catering. Mike Platania has more here. (Richmond BizSense)
Another taco joint opened this past Friday at the corner of Main St and Strawberry St! Barrio, located in the former Pearl Raw Bar, is just a new concept for Richmond Restaurant Group who also owns East Coast Provisions, The Hill Café, and The Daily. They opened Friday and kept doors open on Saturday but said they would be closed to the public on Sunday and will keep us posted. The only hours posted on their website currently is Monday opening at 4pm so we’re not really sure if they are fully open or what their hours might be but if you feel like taking a gamble head over there and check it out. The menu offers a few appetizers, a variety of tacos, and just a handful of other options like a quesadilla, burrito, or salad.
In some exciting food news, Scott’s Addition is getting sushi! The popular Jackson Ward spot, Fighting Fish, has secured a spot on Arthur Ashe Boulevard across from the Hardee’s according to this Richmond BizSense article. Fighting Fish is known for their fresh sushi and poké bowls plus their price point is great with most bowls costing $11-$15. Their sushi donut and sushi burrito are fun twists on classics. If their SA location mirrors their first, look for them to be open every day for lunch and dinner. (Richmond BizSense)
