The Park RVA
What it is: A playground for adults (after 7 pm) featuring spirits, activities, and food.
Why we love it: I’m sure by now you’ve heard the hype around The Park, and for good reason! When meeting a group of friends, agreeing on a place to go can be challenging. The Park solves that with various food, beverage, and activity options. With the largest bar counter in Virginia, mini golf, duckpin bowling, and virtual golf — you can spend hours here. I especially enjoyed the room dedicated to karaoke (I may or may not have sung Genie in a Bottle with just one other friend to an empty room 😜).
Where to find it: 1407 Cummings Dr (Diamond District)
Note: Enter 2601 Durham if you’re using GPS.
Moxy Richmond Downtown
What it is: A swanky new hotel featuring an intimate bar with killer drinks.
Why we love it: We’re quite excited about this new hotel addition to RVA. Not only does Moxy offer a whimsical atmosphere, but the vibe here is unlike any other hotel in the area. Perfect for out-of-towners and locals, you can expect cozy rooms and attentive hotel staff. Meet friends, and enjoy sipping craft cocktails with upscale touches.
Where to find it: 501 E Franklin St (Monroe Ward)
Jade Multicultural Salon
What it is: A trendy, full-service salon.
Why we love it: Transitioning into a new style is a fun experience. At Jade Multicultural Salon, they go the extra mile to deliver high-quality services to their customers. No matter your hair type, the staff here takes time to walk through hair care with you, so your new ‘do stays lush. (They even specialize in bridal hair!) Book yourself some self-care — you deserve it.
Where to find it: 3304 E Marshall St (Church Hill)
Truckle Cheesemongers
What it is: A local cheese shop. (Editor’s note: And likely Kelsey’s lunch plans for sometime this weekend. These pics.)
Why we love it: Truckle Cheesemongers is a dedicated cheese shop where you’ll find fresh gourmet cheeses for any occasion. Kick off a holiday party with your favorite cheeses (including fondue!). They offer tastings, catering, and curated charcuterie boards to pair with any kind of wine, too.
Where to find it: 714 N Sheppard St (Museum District)
The Lion’s Den
What it is: A cigar bar and restaurant.
Why we love it: The Lion’s Den boasts an atmosphere that radiates elegance and style. From the handcrafted cocktails to their curated list of cigars with an onsite cigar sommelier and beautiful food presentation, you won’t be disappointed. This spot is for the nights when you seek a laid-back experience surrounded by other cigar enthusiasts.
Where to find it: 700 Dawn St (Northside)
