Sugar & Twine

What it is: A beloved Carytown cafe that’s officially (re)opened it’s eat-in space

Why we love it: “The best coffee shop gang in the biz!” as one Insta commenter put it, has revamped its cafe space and quietly opened to the public again, next door to its current walk-up window. Stop by for a chocolate croissant (or whatever sweet treat you’ve got a hankering for!) and enjoy the ~new and improved~ ambiance.

Where to find it: 2928 W Cary St (Carytown)

The Mantu Express

What it is: An extension of The Mantu, Chef Hamidullah Noori’s Carytown restaurant for Afghan cuisine

Why we love it: “Food is the ocean of love,” says The Mantu, and we’re feeling especially warm and fuzzy now that its sister restaurant has opened in the former Two Guys Pizza space next to Regal Short Pump. Before or after you catch a flick, stop by The Mantu Express for a fast-casual meal; here, you’ll find sambosas, tandoori naan, pizza, stromboli, calzones, and much more.

Where to find it: 11636 W Broad St (Short Pump)

What it is: Your new go-to spot for comfort food this fall, from the mind of the talented Chef AntyO

Why we love it: This place is “redefining American cuisine,” offering scratch-made dishes, like cardamom rubbed salmon with maple-roasted root vegetables; enoki nashville with vegan slaw, pickles, and vegan brioche; and Peruvian chicken fries with aji verde. Put it *all* on our tab.

Where to find it: 304 W Broad St (Jackson Ward)
