Beaucoup

What it is:
A cocktail and oyster bar from the geniuses who brought you Grissette and Jardin.

Why we love it: After a much-anticipated wait, Beaucoup finally opened their doors this month, bringing RVA the comfort of a Paris-inspired dive bar. This spot values affordably priced oysters (by the dozen) and a selection of appetizing small plates in an unassuming, laid-back atmosphere. But make sure you get in the door ASAP — as of now, their seating is walk-in only.

Where to find it: 111 N Robinson St (The Fan)

Trouvaille

What it is: A cozy, upscale restaurant focused on elevated cuisine.

Why we love it: Trouvaille touts itself as a “casual eatery where comfort meets culinary creativity.” Their simple menu features intentional dishes focused on sourcing high-quality ingredients. Try their Ricotta app with crostini, chili peppers, and honey, followed by the Duck Breast entree, featuring broccolini, cashew butter, Banyuls syrup, and pomegranate seeds.

Where to find it: 203 N Lombardy St (VCU)

The Hive Bar & Grill

What it is: A market and restaurant with delectable delights.

Why we love it: Jackfruit Asada Tcos, Crab Mac ‘n Cheese, Peruvian Chicken, Veggie Kabobs — is your mouth watering yet? Taking place of renowned Saison lies The Hive Bar & Grill, a welcoming blend of casual eats and craft cocktails. This late-night stop is perfect for after-show fare and late dinner dates with its limited menu that still offers fried green tomatoes and mussels far into the night. Plus, there’s a market inside, offering grab-and-go bites if you’re on a time crunch.

Where to find it: 23 W Marshall St (Jackson Ward)

Gather & Hem

What it is:
A cocktail lounge with small plates.

Why we love it: Located in the Miller & Rhoads Department Store building is Gather & Hem, a chic cocktail lounge welcoming travelers and locals alike. This re-imagined concept has reopened its doors, offering craft cocktails and appetizers like baked Chesapeake oysters. No need to worry about downtown parking either; this spot offers discounted parking validation in the hotel lot.

Where to find it: 501 E Broad St (City Center)

Fogo de Chão

What it is: A steakhouse concept straight from Brazil.

Why we love it: Lunch, brunch, dinner, and dessert — Fogo de Chão has it all with the temptation of Brazilian flavor combinations that cater to your meaty cravings. Originally a chain steakhouse from Brazil, Fogo de Chão offers truly authentic provisions prepared with traditional recipes in mind. Feeling especially hungry? Try one of their steaks like the Wagyu NY Strip or the Dry-Aged Tomahawk. More of a fan of seafood? Order the Chilean Sea Bass.
